Book Giveaway: Week 1

You guys, it's come to my attention that I'm hoarding horse books.  I know.  What was my original rule way back in the day?  Don't hoard horse books.  I'm hoarding!  This is just...horrible.  That's what this is.

So I'm putting a stop to it.  I've decided to split up the books I've got into somewhat related piles and give them away on (something like) a weekly basis.  I've got enough books for six (maybe seven or eight, actually) weeks of giveaways in a row.  Yes, I did just say that.  It's giveaway summer!

The first giveaway will include the following books:

Yes, Joanna Campbell books.  I know what you're thinking.  It's probably something like I shouldn't, I really shouldn't, but I WANT them.  That's how I felt, too.

How do you enter to win these lovely relics of the '80s?  Just leave a comment on the blog!  Contest ends 7/23.  Winner selected on 7/24, while I'm recovering from jet lag.

In the meantime, I'm going to go read Dream of Night.  Really, I am.  I'm not lying.

Is A Horse of Her Own the one where a horse's mane get's chopped off? I swear I've read a book like that by J.C. a million years ago, and I have no idea what it was called.... :-)

I NEED A Horse of Her Own. This book is directly responsible for me spending my teen years mucking stalls at a therapeutic riding center to pay for lease and riding lesson money rather than making out with cute boys. Because I figured if I did that, eventually I'd win a blue ribbon in jumping, get my own horse and then win the Breeder's Cup Classic, like Ashleigh Griffen.

My therapist and I will need to discuss. Pretty please, send ASAP.

I totes want in. Except I already have A Horse of Her Own, so if I win you can give that to someone else. It's really more the principle of the thing - I love contests ;)

email is missypant0ne@aol.com (zero, not an o. shut up, I was 17 when Bring It On came out. and it's still awesome. ten years later. fuck, i'm old.)

VictimTickery- that would be a book written by someone else in the tradtion of Throroughbred. It involves a pony called Lukas... and a girl called Cara.

Molly- Love that movie. Love it.

You have no idea how many young adult books from the 80's that I am also hoarding... not the least of which is my Baby-Sitters Club collection. In other words, these are a must-have! ;)

Hmm, they would make a great addition to my horse book collection. Two out of three shelves on my bookcase are horse books. So I'm definitely in. =]
